My name is Jan Caha. I have studied geoinformatics (bachelor, master, and Ph.D). At the moment, I work as an assistant professor at Mendel University in Brno, where I teach geoinformatics and data interpretation and visualization.
My professional interests include:
- visibility analyses (as a special case of spatial analyses in GIS)
- uncertainty modeling and propagation in spatial analysis
- fuzzy sets, fuzzy logic and fuzzy arithmetic in spatial analyses
- open-source software and open data
- data science (with a focus on spatial data)
Most of my articles and other texts are available through Researchgate or ORCID
In my work, I usually do a lot of programming, currently mostly in R and Python. Previously I used Java a lot, mostly because of its libraries focused on spatial data. Some of my work is available through GitHub.
